Total withdraws from its role of operator in the Foz Do Amazonas basin

Total announces that on August 19, 2020, it notified its partners of its resignation from its role as operator of five exploration blocks located in the Foz do Amazonas basin, 120 kilometers off the coast of Brazil. These exploration blocks are referenced FZA-M-57, FZA-M-86, FZA-M-88, FZA-M-125 and FZA-M-127.
Total has informed the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) of this decision, which opens a period of 6 months during which a new operator will be appointed and to whom the operator's activities will be transferred. During this period, Total has the obligation to continue carrying out administrative processes on behalf of its partners Petrobras and BP.
