On the 29th November 2019, Equinor Equinor resubmitted its environment plan for proposed drilling activity in the Great Australian Bight. NOPSEMA has now resumed it's assessment of the environment plan in accordance with Environment Regulations.

The next decision in the assessment process is scheduled by 30th December 2019. Up to this point, NOPSEMA continues to asses the environmental plan and must consider the potential impact to the environment the proposed activity has to make sure the correct precautions are taken.

NOPSEMA can extend the timeframe of the assessment if additional time is required. The plan is only accepted by NOPSEMA when it meets the stringent requirements of the law.
