MV Fairmaster Carries VLS to Norway for Normand Maximus

Friday 12 February 2016

This January, Jumbo's MV Fairmaster transported a 1,720t Vertical Lay System (VLS) from La Rochelle in France to Brattvåg in Norway. In July 2015, this VLS was safely transported by MV Jumbo Jubilee from Gdynia in Poland to La Rochelle. At the time the VLS weighed 'only' 876t because it was not fully assembled.

In La Rochelle the VLS was fully assembled in 6 months time, getting ready to be shipped to its destination: Saipem's offshore construction vessel Normand Maximus.

Upon arrival at the port of Brattvåg MV Fairmaster moored alongside the new built hull and placed the VLS including its foundation successfully on its final position onboard Normand Maximus in beautiful winter conditions. The VLS measuring 32x16x44m is a subsea laying system for the Offshore Oil and Gas industry.
