Vår Energi – Goliat – Manned Underwater Operations

From 17 to 19 June 2019, Petroleum Safety Authority Norway carried out an audit of Vår Energi’s management of the performance of manned underwater operations at Goliat.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that Vår Energi’s management and follow-up of the risk factors involved in underwater operations using light diving craft (LDCs) at Goliat in 2019 complied with the regulatory requirements.
Result
One non-conformity was identified concerning deficiencies in the analysis of working environment risk.
In addition, two improvement points were identified in connection with:
- Inadequate regulatory understanding among managerial and executive personnel
- Inadequate compliance measurement in respect of regulatory requirements
Vår Energi has been given a deadline of 12 December 2019 to report of how the non-conformity and improvement points will be addressed.
