Equinor – Consent to use Utgard
Tuesday 23 July 2019
Petroleum Safety Authority Norway have given Equinor Energy consent to use the facilities on the Utgard field.
The consent applies to the use of Utgard subsea facilities, pipelines, control cables and associated modifications to Sleipner A and T.
Utgard
The Utgard field is in the central North Sea, straddling the sector boundary between Norway and the UK. It is located 20 kilometres west of the Sleipner field centre. The water depth is 110-120 metres. Utgard was discovered in 1982 and the plan for development and operation (PDO) was approved in 2017. The development concept is a 4-slot subsea template with two wells tied-back to the Sleipner T facility for processing and reduction of the CO2 level in the gas.
The field is under development, and production is scheduled to start in 2019.
