Wednesday 20 January 2016

Italy's ENI expects to start oil production at the Goliat field in the Barents Sea in three to five weeks pending completion of formal procedures, a company's official said on Tuesday.

"We expect (production) start as soon as the formal, administrative processing time of three to five weeks, in accordance with the Public Administration Act, is over," ENI's official told Reuters.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority issued a conditional consent to use a floating production and storage facility in the Arctic Goliat field, but its decision can be appealed within three weeks.
