The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism announced that the consortium of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Cyprus (Offshore) Limited and Qatar Petroleum International Upstream O.P.C., holder of an exploration license for Block 10 within the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Republic of Cyprus, has commenced drilling operations at the site of the “Delphyne-1” well.

The drilling operations, conducted by “Stena Icemax” drillship at a water bed depth of 1.973 metres, will be monitored on a continuous basis by the personnel of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, who will be analyzing the collected data in collaboration with the Ministry’s consultants.
