The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted DEA Norge AS a drilling permit for well 7321/4-1, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 7321/4-1 will be drilled from the Island Innovator drilling facility in position 73°44'07.76" north and 21°08'21.94" east after concluding the drilling of wildcat well 7322/7-1 for Spirit Energy Norge AS in production licence 852.

The drilling programme for well 7321/4-1 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 721. DEA Norge AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 40 per cent. The other licensees are Aker BP ASA (40 per cent) and Wintershall Norge AS (20 per cent). The area in this licence consists of all of block 7321/4. The well will be drilled about 140 km north of the Johan Castberg field and 350 km northwest of Hammerfest.

Production licence 721 was awarded on 21 June 2013 (22nd licensing round on the Norwegian Shelf). This is the first well to be drilled in the licence.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
