Aker BP has received consent from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway for the use of Safe Scandinavia as a flotel on the Ula field from 1 September 2018 to 31 November 2019.

Aker BP is the operator of the Ula field, which is located in the southern North Sea, northwest of the Ekofisk field.

Safe Scandinavia was constructed in 1984 at Aker Verdal to an Aker H-3.2E design. The facility has a maximum of 583 beds.

Safe Scandinavia received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AOC) from the PSA in April 2007.
