Pipeline Bundle Decommissioning Opportunity

Wednesday 25 July 2018

Scottish supply chain companies are invited to propose solutions for the decommissioning of offshore pipeline bundles as part of a programme jointly developed by private sector economic development company Opportunity North East (ONE) and Scottish Enterprise (SE).

ONE and SE are partnering to support Scottish oil and gas supply chain SMEs to access new decommissioning business and are working with oil and gas operators on a series of project-specific opportunities. The programme enables SMEs to present their capabilities, skills and experience to operators in relation to real industry challenges and potentially benefit from business support to enhance their capabilities in relation to future decommissioning work.

The second decommissioning opportunity in the programme is on pipeline bundle decommissioning, sponsored by operators including Spirit Energy, and SMEs are invited to register their interest by 17:00 BST, Wednesday 22 August 2018. Further information can be found here.

On behalf of the operator sponsors, the opportunity seeks innovative propositions, on an individual or collaborative basis, using economies of scale and applied technical or commercial approaches to efficiently address the pipeline bundle decommissioning scope and reduce overall cost. These propositions may cover total removal by various methods or making safe to users of the sea and decommissioning pipeline in-situ, for example by burying. Some propositions may highlight an intent to find a partner(s) to provide a complete solution. This dialogue will be encouraged and, if required, facilitated to create those alliances.
