The Visund field is in the northern North Sea, north-east of Gullfaks. Production began in 1999. The field has been developed by means of a semi-submersible integrated quarters, drilling and processing facility (Visund A) and well templates for seabed production.

Equinor and the other Visund licensees are now extending the field with an extra subsea template with four well slots. The project has been named “Visund Nord IOR”.

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway have now given consent for use of the subsea production facility and wells at Visund Nord IOR.
