Friday 13 July 2018
Danish marine contractor Peter Madsen Rederi A/S (PMR) has successfully completed another stone bed installation job for jack-up installation vessels. The new set of stone beds were constructed in the port of Esbjerg in Denmark and completed well ahead of schedule.
Working with a very tight time schedule, PMR were tasked with the construction of a new set of stone beds for the safe loading of the WTGs for the Vattenfall-owned Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm in the Danish sector. The stone beds will be used as a stable platform for the jack-up installation vessel and had to be installed in time for the first load-out.
The project comprised of capital dredging of approx. 30,000m3 of seabed, dumping of the material offshore, procurement, transport handling and installation of around 20,000m3 of stones as well as extensive multibeam surveying.
