Petroleum Safety Authority Norway have given Equinor Energy AS consent to use the Deepsea Atlantic mobile drilling facility on the Utgard field in production licences 046E and 046F.

The consent applies to drilling and completion using Deepsea Atlantic.

The drilling operation is scheduled to begin in August 2018 and is expected to last 87 days.

Deepsea Atlantic is a semi-submersible drilling facility of the MODU GVA 7500 type. The facility is operated by Odfjell Drilling AS. Deepsea Atlantic was completed in 2009, is registered in Norway and is classified by DNV GL.

Deepsea Atlantic obtained its Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from the PSA in July 2009.
