Thursday 28 June 2018
DEA celebrates an incident free offshore season for the Dvalin development project.
The load out of the subsea template from Egersund in April, marked the start of an extensive offshore program for DEA and Dvalin project. This week, the Far Superior vessel wrapped up the last outstanding work, ending the Dvalin offshore 2018 season on time, budget, and without incidents.
In 56 days, the project has
- Installed the Dvalin template (ITS) on well location
- Installed the H25 module on the Heidrun platform
- Pre-lay rock dump at Dvalin location
- Installed Gas Export pipeline from Heidrun to the Polarled tee location
- Performed as laid surveys and performed Flooding, Cleaning and Gauging of Gas Export pipeline
- 316 people have been involved.
The Dvalin gas field was discovered in 2010 and is DEA’s first own operated field development project in Norway.
The field is located in PL 435, approximately 15 kilometres northwest of the Heidrun field and 35 kilometres south of the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea. The licence was awarded in the Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) 2006.
The Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) was submitted to the Authorities in October 2016. First gas is expected in 2020.
