Equinor Energy AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 63.95 per cent. The other licensees are Petoro AS (24.55 per cent) and Eni Norge AS (11.5 per cent). The area in this licence consists of the western part of block 6608. The wells are being drilled to delineate the Cape Vulture discovery, about 8 kilometres north of the Norne field.
Production licence 128 D was awarded on 5 February 2016 in APA 2015 on the Norwegian shelf. Well 6608/10-18 is the first well to be drilled within the licence.
The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing drilling activities.
