Lancaster EPS Buoy Sail-away
Tuesday 22 May 2018
Hurricane Energy plc, the UK based oil and gas company focused on hydrocarbon resources in naturally fractured basement reservoirs, provided an operational update in relation to the Early Production System on the Lancaster Field.
The newly-fabricated buoy for the Lancaster EPS has departed from Drydocks World in Dubai, following successful testing and final inspection. The buoy forms a critical element of the turret mooring system for the Aoka Mizu FPSO and its completion concludes a key part of the construction phase of the project.
Arrival of the buoy by the end of June 2018 is expected to permit installation of the turret mooring system at the Lancaster field by the end of Q3 2018, as previously guided. The other components of the turret mooring system: piles, chains and wires, have already been delivered and installation is therefore expected to proceed on schedule.
