Drilling Permit for Well 7221/12-1 in Production Licence 659

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) has granted Aker BP ASA a drilling permit for well 7221/12-1, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.
Well 7221/12-1 will be drilled from the Deepsea Stavanger drilling facility in position 72o8' 18.68" north and 21o55' 50.32" east.
The drilling programme for well 7221/12-1 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 659.
Aker BP ASA is the operator with an ownership interest of 50 per cent. The other licensees are Petoro AS (30 per cent) and Lundin Norway AS (20 per cent). The area in this licence consists of the blocks/parts of blocks 7121/3, 7122/1, 7122/2, 7221/12, 7222/10, 7222/11 and 7222/12.
The well will be drilled about 20 km northwest of the discovery well 7222/11-2 (Langlitinden).
Production licence 659 was awarded on 3 February 2012 in APA2011 on the Norwegian shelf.
The permit is conditional on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before the drilling activity commences.
