Petroleum Safety Authority Norway: Audit of Spirit Energy – the Oda Field
Tuesday 6 March 2018
The Oda field is in the southern part of the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, 10 kilometres east of Ula. The field is in development and will use a subsea template with two production wells tied back to the Ula field and an injection well for pressure support.
Oda is Spirit Energy's first development project on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
On 6 February 2018, the Petroleum Safety Authority carried out an audit of the operator's project management of subsea facilities and pipelines in the field development.
The object of the audit was to evaluate how the company's management of activities for delivering subsea facilities and pipelines complies with the company's own requirements and statutory regulations.
The audit identified no regulatory non-conformities or improvement points.
*Spirit Energy was created in 2017 following the combination of Centrica’s Exploration & Production business and Bayerngas Norge AS. The business is 69%-owned by Centrica plc, with the remaining 31% owned by Bayerngas Norge’s former shareholders, led by Stadtwerke München and Bayerngas GmbH.
