The consent applies to the use of Songa Equinox for drilling, completion, workover, intervention and plugging (P&A) of well 31/2-Y-24 CYH XT.

Water depth at the site is 331 metres.

The drilling operations are scheduled to begin in April and are expected to last 80 days.

Songa Equinox is a semi-submersible drilling facility, operated by Songa Offshore.

The rig received Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in November 2015.

The Troll field is located around 65 kilometres west of Kollsnes in Hordaland County and is the largest gas discovery made in the North Sea.

We have now granted consent to use Songa Equinox on the Troll field in accordance with Statoil's application.
