Monday 16 October 2017
Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry’s Dalian shipyard has delivered the Maersk Installer, the first of four deep-water subsea support vessels (SSV) on order from Maersk Supply Service.
Maersk placed the order to build four SSVs with options for two additional vessels at Cosco Dalian in 2014. The second is expected to be delivered later this year and the third and fourth units are scheduled for delivery next year.
The DP 3 vessel of Marin Teknikk, Norway, MT6027 design can work in water depths of up to 3000 metres and is designed to accommodate 120 people.
It also comes equipped with a rope-luffing type 400-tonne ACH knuckle boom and two remotely operated vehicles which give the vessel the capability to carry out module replacement and inspection, as well subsea construction work and offshore lifting operations.
The vessel has a deck space of 1925 square metres, with a length of 137 metres and a beam of 27 metres. It has a deadweight of 9800 tonnes at designed draft of eight metres.
