International diving consultancy, DiveSource have been accepted as a training provider on the Transition Fund scheme.

The Transition Training Fund was set up by the Scottish Government and is managed by Skills Development Scotland, the project aims to support those affected by the oil and gas downturn.

Now approved, DiveSource will be able to provide their Client Rep training and Dive Control Simulator training for competency verification through the scheme and aid those who were made redundant.

The approval scheme provides individuals with an opportunity to upskill or reduce skill fade at no cost to themselves at a time where competition is high and disposable income is low within the North East.

Managing Director of DiveSource, Sarah Hutcheon comments “Despite the challenging market, there is still a strong need for diving competency verification within the North East, it is a specialist skill set and it’s important that all divers and supervisors are fully trained and up to standard with the most recent regulations.

For those who have been made redundant, it gives them the option to see self-progression and focus on the future of their careers whilst not having to worry about funding.”
