New Milestone for Alvheim

Wednesday 19 August 2015

The accumulated oil production for the Alvheim-area passed 300 million barrels of oil 17 August 2015. This is above expectations.

"The field has delivered excellent results and been further developed with new wells and fields since start-up in June 2008. The positive development does not end here because there is still remaining resources to exploit in the area", says Senior Vice President Operations Geir Solli in Det norske.

The average daily production from the 25 producing wells in the greater Alvheim area (Alvheim, Vilje, Volund and Bøyla Fields) is currently around 100 000 barrels of oil equivalents (around 90 per cent oil).

"This achievement is a result of many years with thorough planning, strong implementation and operation, good team work – and use of solid standardized technological solutions. The Greater Alvheim Area exceeds all of our expectations from the start up back in June 2008. This success is made possible thanks to the whole organization, both on- and offshore and the cooperation with our license partners in the area", says Geir Solli.

The greater Alvheim area comprises of the discoveries Alvheim (Kneler, Boa and Kameleon) and the fields Vilje, Volund and Bøyla. The Alvheim field Alvheim is developed with a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel and subsea wells.
