Norwegian contractor Bergen Group AAK has won a sub-contract for work related to a decommissioning project at the North Sea Ekofisk field.

The Bergen Group subsidiary has been awarded a framework contract for 2017 and 2018 to provide services within welding, mechanical, inspections, lifting and rigging to AF Offshore Decom.

The ongoing project at ConocoPhillips-operated Ekofisk covers four ageing platforms to be removed and recycled between 2017 and 2022. The main contractor is Heerema Marine Contractors.
