China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) revealed Wednesday the field in the Madura Strait was producing from two wells at a rate of about 7200 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
Output is expected to ramp to about 25,500 boepd next year as two more production wells are brought online.
In addition to the four development wells, the BD field facilities include an unmanned wellhead platform and a floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
CNOOC holds a 40% interest in the BD field operator Husky-CNOOC Madura, Canada’s Husky Energy also hold a 40% share, while Indonesia’s Samudra Energy holds the remaining 20% equity.
