Aker BP Receives Consent for Exploration Drilling

Aker BP has received consent to drill exploration wells in block 25/2 in the North Sea.

The wells to be drilled are in block 25/2 in production licence 442, and comprise appraisal well 25/2-19 S ("Delta") with a sidetrack to exploration well 25/19-A ("Nordfjellet") with a potential well test.

The geographical coordinates of the drill site will be:

59° 52' 27.63'' N

02° 37' 46.45" E

Water depth at the site is 120 metres and drilling is scheduled to begin in August 2017.

The wells are to be drilled by the jack-up drilling facility Maersk Interceptor. The facility was delivered by the Keppel Shipyard of Singapore in 2014, and is owned by Maersk AS and operated by Maersk Drilling Norge AS.

Maersk Interceptor was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in December 2014.
