Hilong Takes out CPOC Install Contract

Hilong Marine Engineering has been awarded a sub-contract worth a minimum US$25 million for the transport and installation of the offshore facilities for the phase four of the B-17 gas project in the Malaysia-Thailand joint development area.

The workscope covers the three wellhead platforms, subsea pipelines and host tie-ins, said parent company Hilong Holding.

The construction period of the contract will be from mid December 2017 to March 2018, and the total contract value is "no less than US$25 million".

The contract was awarded by Thai company CUEL, which is the project's main offshore contractor.

It is understood Hilong is replacing Solstad Offshore as the transport and install contractor.

Hilong Holding said: "The board believes the contract marks a significant breakthrough of Hilong's offshore installation, transportation and subsea pipeline laying contracting business in Southeast Asia and demonstrates that Hilong offshore capability is recognized and appreciated by major operators in the industry."

The B-17 project is owned by the the Carigali-PTTEP Operating Company (CPOC) comprising Petronas Carigali (50%) and PTT Exploration and Production (50%).
