Hansa Heavy Plays its Part at Jangkrik

Wednesday 12 April 2017

Hansa Heavy has transported a range of subsea equipment from three ports around the world for installation at Eni's Jangkrik gas project in Indonesia.

The equipment, which included 24 reels, was picked up at Rosyth in the UK; Le Trait in France and Tanjung Langsat in Malaysia.

The equipment was offloaded in Balikpapan, Indonesia, onto the offshore vessel Viking Neptun, in five mobilisations.

Two more vessels, the Seismic Supporter and the Deep Orient, were used to load and offload some of the equipment from Hansa Heavy's ship HHL Richards Bay, which required additional planning.

“Our P2-1400 vessel type was the ideal ship for this project, as she provided enough space to stow and handle the cargo and enough crane capacity for discharging," said Henry Woo, head of Asia Pacific, Hansa Heavy.
