Call for Bids in Jeanne d’Arc Basin

The Canada-Newfoundland & Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board is offering up three parcels in the prolific Jeanne d’Arc basin in its latest call for bids.

The three parcels consist of 317,407 hectares offshore Newfoundland & Labrador in an area that already includes three significant discovery licences, as well as several existing production and exploration licences.

The parcels are included in the 2014 Eastern Newfoundland Strategic Environmental Assessment.

The sole criterion for a winning bid will be the total amount of money committed to spending on exploration during the first period a nine-year licence. The minimum bid is C$10 million (US$7.5 million).

All submissions must be received by 8 November 2017.
