PREZIOSO Linjebygg awarded contract with Eni Norway for Goliat FPSO

Wednesday 23 November 2016

Eni Norge AS has awarded PREZIOSO Linjebygg AS a framework agreement for ISS Services (insulation, scaffolding and surface treatment) for the Goliat FPSO. The contract also covers rope access, welding habitats and related engineering services.

The contract takes effect immediately, and offshore activity is anticipated to start in early 2017. The agreement has a duration of three years, plus three option periods of one year each, making a maximum of 6 years. The project value may reach about 200 million NOK (22m€), depending on the number of option periods ordered.

Goliat is the first oil-producing field in the Barents Sea and is located 85 km northwest of Hammerfest (North Norway). It is being developed using the largest and most sophisticated floating cylindrical production and storage (FPSO) vessel in the world. The platform has a storage capacity of almost one million barrels and was built using the most advanced technologies available in order to meet the extreme technical and environmental challenges of offshore operations inside the Arctic Circle. The field will produce 100,000 barrels of oil per day and is estimated to contain about 180 million barrels of oil.
“We are very pleased with this contract award and look forward to starting up our work on this northernmost production platform of the Norwegian Continental Shelf”, says Kristoffer B. Jenssen, PREZIOSO Linjebygg regional Vice-President for Norway.

The contract requires the establishment of office and warehouse facilities in Hammerfest, which the group is targeting as a bridgehead for further expansion in this relatively new Oil & Gas region of Norway.

Terje Hellum, Director of ISS Services at PREZIOSO Linjebygg in Norway, says the Goliat FPSO is a “unique and very exciting installation”: “We are eager to participate with our expertise in different areas; we want to contribute to the efficient operation of Goliat, and we look forward to working closely with Eni Norway in the years to come”.
