Valhall Drilling 'Set For Restart'

Monday 12 September 2016

BP is reportedly set to restart production drilling on its Valhall field off Norway in early 2017 after a suspension of more than two years due to cost-cutting by the UK supermajor.

Archer will resume work under its existing contract that was put on hold in the first quarter of 2015, resulting in lay-offs at the Seadrill-owned contractor.

BP looking is to restart drilling from the injection platform at the North Sea field in April or May next year, news site Offshore.no reported.

A spokesman for the operator was quoted as saying the drilling suspension had been prolonged due to low oil prices that has hit revenue.
