Petrobras informs about discovery in the Aram Block
Tuesday 1 November 2022
Petrobras, in continuation of the statement released on 11/19/21, informs that it has successfully completed the formation test in the wildcat well 1-BRSA-1381-SPS (Curaçao) in the pre-salt of the southwest portion of the Santos Basin. The new discovery is located 240 km from the city of Santos-SP, at a water depth of 1905 meters, in the Aram Block.
The cased well formation test (TFR) evaluated a thick range of pre-salt carbonate reservoirs, in which it was possible to know their productivity through dynamic production data. During the test, oil samples were collected which will later be characterized through laboratory analysis. This TFR, carried out approximately 6 months after the completion of the drilling of the pioneer 1-BRSA-1381-SPS in January 2022, complements the evaluation of this well based on profiles.
The result is the result of the consortium's strategy of maximizing the use of data in the application of new technological solutions, enabling the real-time processing of the information acquired, which allows decision-making in an agile and safe way. The consortium will continue activities in the Aram Block, with a view to evaluating the dimensions and commerciality of the new accumulation.
The Aram Block was acquired in March 2020, in the 6th bidding round of the Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis (ANP), under the Production Sharing regime, with Pré-Sal Petróleo SA (PPSA) as manager.
Petrobras is the operator of the block and holds an 80% interest, in partnership with the company CNPC (20%).
