The Danish Energy Agency issues an establishment permit for the Frederikshavn offshore wind farm

The Danish Energy Agency has on 26 October 2022 issued an establishment permit for Frederikshavn Offshore Wind Farm. The project has a total capacity of 72 MW.

With the permit, the Danish Energy Agency has given Frederikshavn OWF ApS the right to build the electricity production facility Frederikshavn Offshore Wind Farm. The project includes the installation of up to five offshore wind turbines at a height of up to 256 metres. The five offshore wind turbines will be located four kilometers from the coast at Frederikshavn Harbour.

There is a lot of consultation work behind it

The Danish Energy Agency has made the decision on the basis of Frederikshavn OWF's application for an establishment permit from 20 May 2022 and has been notified in accordance with Section 25 of the Act on the Promotion of Renewable Energy. It is possible to appeal against the Danish Energy Agency's decision, and a complaint guide can be found in the decision, which is published on the Danish Energy Agency's website .

In the period 25 May 2022 – 5 August 2022, the Danish Energy Agency and Frederikshavn Municipality conducted a public consultation on the environmental impact report for the Frederikshavn Offshore Wind Farm. The Danish Energy Agency and Frederikshavn Municipality have prepared consultation notes in which the authorities have dealt with the consultation responses received. The consultation notes are published on the Danish Energy Agency's website .

Facts about the project

The project includes the installation of up to five offshore wind turbines at a height of up to 256 meters with a total capacity of 72 MW, which are located four kilometers from the coast at Frederikshavn Harbor and 1.8 kilometers from the coast at Hirsholmene.
