Bassoe Rig Analytics recently reviewed its figures of competitive and uncompetitive offshore drilling rigs and decided to remove a further 31 rigs (15 jackups, 10 drillships and 6 semisubs) from the global competitive supply, due to them having been stacked for several years and hence are unlikely to return to service in the near term. This has resulted in a slight increase to competitive utilization of 4%.
