Oda Infill Well Approved

Petter Myhre, Asset Manager for operated production at Spirit Energy, said: “Since the Oda field started production in March 2019, we have gained good understanding of the reservoir. Based on this knowledge, a new infill well will accelerate production from Oda and produce the oil from the field even faster."
The current plan is to start drilling the well in September–October this year.
Myhre said: “This is an attractive and profitable project with good strategic fit for Spirit Energy and our licence partners.”
Rig secured
With a water depth at the Oda location of 65 meters, the heavy-duty jack-up drilling unit Valaris Viking (also referred to as Rowan Viking) operated by Valaris has been contracted for the infill well. Built in 2010, Valaris Viking is currently on contract with another operator on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and is expected to spud the Oda well in direct continuation of this drilling programme.
