PGS Delivers Final Products from Canada 2020 Seismic Acquisition

Tuesday 23 March 2021

PGS added 8 500 sq. km to its offshore Newfoundland and Labrador data library last season with three new GeoStreamer programs: South Bank, Blomidon, and the Torngat Extension. Final PSTM products are now available from all three surveys.

South Bank exhibits a huge Tertiary fan system

Blomidon covers Tertiary and Cretaceous leads

Torngat targets potential oil-prone acreage

“PGS continues to invest in Canada and we are encouraged by the results of these new programs. This data will help exploration teams de-risk and better understand the areas for upcoming bid rounds,” comments Sriram Arasanipalai, Canada Area Manager at PGS.

Eastern Newfoundland | 3 526 sq. km

The Blomidon 3D survey covers Tertiary and Cretaceous leads on open acreage for upcoming Eastern Newfoundland licensing.

South-Eastern Newfoundland | 2 635 sq. km

South Bank 3D provides the first 3D in an area with a huge Tertiary fan system. Open acreage will be included in the first South-Eastern Newfoundland call for bids, closing in November 2021.

South Labrador | 2 050 sq. km

The Torngat Extension provides 3D data that builds on the existing Torngat 3D survey, over potential oil-prone acreage that is part of the South Labrador call for bids closing in November 2021.
